Sea Kayak and Explore the Hidden Gems of the North

Join us for a half day sea kayaking tour and explore the sheltered saltwater and open rugged coastlines that make up the Cape Breton coastline.

Our trained guides will take you on an adventure and exploration of the wonders of Cape Breton’s natural environment. Sea kayak along gypsum cliffs, and through pristine salt marshes.

Learn about the oyster aquaculture industry (oysters available for purchase just up the road at Hideaway Oyster cafe) and explore pristine sand barrier beaches.

The area is home to bald eagles, willets, plovers, terns and moose. Our tours take you through South Harbour and into the Atlantic Ocean.

Stop at the beach for a picnic of locally made Cape North style Oatcakes and our favourite herbal tea, complete with shipwreck stories from the very water you are paddling.

We offer easy instruction for beginners, with safe, sturdy sea kayaks. Single and double sea kayaks are used, the tandem kayaks are a great option for families.

After your sea kayak tour head down the road and visit a local potter at her studio. Middle Harbour Pottery Studio makes unique Cape Breton Inspired mugs, plates and bowls.

Visit at her Art's North Gallery and see the unique works of Cape Breton Artisans and take home a Cape Breton Inspired Moose Mug. From there head to the St Paul Island Lighthouse Museum,

to complete the local experience, see photos and artifacts from the shipwreck stories you heard on the beach and climb the historic lighthouse that once sat on the tip of St Paul.

Included in this experience is a half day guided sea kayak tour, a beautiful handcrafted and locally made moose mug and a tour of the lighthouse originally from St Paul Island.

Reservations required, no experience necessary. Sporty or synthetic clothing, reusable water bottles, sun protection and shoes that will get wet are required.

Price is $175 per person plus tax and includes your sea kayak tour, a handcrafted moose mug and visit to St Paul Island Museum.
