The SeaSpray Loop Full Day Ride

Distance/Difficulty: 38 km Loop/Challenging/Half to Full Day

Description: Head south east from our location to the National Park’s South Mountain, three spaced climbs take you to the top and the boggy barrens. Good pavement lets you coast back down towards the sea. Keep on the trail to bike the Eastern Coast, or turn left into Neils Harbour. Beaches, ice cream and hot lunch makes this a great stop. Wind your way back north through New Haven and climb again to ocean views. The strong can head down into quaint White Point for a hike and picnic, otherwise stay left and cycle the rolling coastline of Aspy Bay and South Harbour home.

Black Brook Coastal Loop: 18-30 km return (Easy)

Cycle the coast from Black Brook Beach, and ride an 18-30 km along the Cabot Trail, turning back at Warren Lake or continuing farther into the village of Ingonish before cycling back to your car. A fabulous ride, with great coastal views from both directions, and only modest hills.

Starting at the Black Brook Beach Parking lot, head left (south) onto the Cabot Trail, crossing over Black Brook Bridge. Visit the National Park look offs; MacKinnon Cove, Green Cove, Lakies Head and Lil Smokey.

Ride 8.8 km to the Warren Lake Turn off. Turn right on Warren Rd, and then right again for the Broad Cove Mountain Trail (an excellent short hike).

To ride 30 km in total, continue on the Cabot Trail past Warren Lake Rd and cycle 5.5 km to North Bay Ingonish, with fishing wharf, small beach, Groovy Goat shop, PeriWinkle and Salty Rose Cafe or SeaGull Restaurant.
